~Working Class Steampunk~

I know most people want to be Lords & Ladies when it comes to steampunk and I totally share the fascination. To revel in luxurious fabrics, taking a hiatus from the normal life...
But even in a fantasy setting like steampunk: someone has to fire up those steam engines. And that's why we need working class steampunk.
I'm glad FantasticPeoplePic / Fantastic People Pictures and M.B. Fotografie took that attempt with me at the photo event in Dahlerau a few months ago.

What happens when you decide on Wednesday that you want to do a twin photoshoot on Sunday? You get creative ^_^
My favourite photo crew Nana as Co-model and Fantastic People Pictures got together at 42pixel 's place and built a set out of stuff we all had. (I brought half a car full of chairs, cloth etc.)
Before that I made matching ruffle shrugs for Nana and me and we built our outfits around clothes we both have: a white/beige dress from H&M, a corset from Vintage Goth and socks from Ergi by Piratessan.

~ Steampunk with Nana ~

Happy New Year everyone (I hope it's not too late to say that).
I decided to upload another set which I shot together with the beautiful Nana. She's defintely my favourite Co-Model and I'm glad we met through steampunk and photography. We have some HUUUUGE things planned for this year, so stayed tuned.
For now, I present you one of our first shootings, shot by Fantastic People Pictures (I swear I work with other photographers, too!)

~ Magic in the Forest ~

I realised that I had uploaded pictures of myself from the shaman inspired shoot with Fantastic People Pictures but none of the ones together with my favourite Co-model Nana. Shame on me, so inspired by the German folklore about the "Rauhnächte" I thought it's the right time to upload them now.
In German folklore there is the belief that you should not hang (white) laundry during the Rauhnächte (which is the time from December 25 to January 6, so six days in the old year and six in the new year), because the veil between the worlds is thin during that time and ghosts, also known as "die Wilde Jagd" (The Wild Hunt, similar to the one in "The Witcher" ) will roam the world and they could get caught within the laundry.
Another belief is that "Frau Holle" would come and make a "Leichentuch" (~pall/shraud) out of the white laundry which meant that there would be a death within in the family.

I'm not sure, how much of this is relevant if you have a tumble dryer or if you don't have white laundry (like me...).

~ Steampunk Absinth Fairy ~

I always wanted to do a steampunk absinthe fairy after I found these amazing socks from Sock Dreams. After a few years I found the motivation to finally do it.

A little bit of information on the outfit:
- shoes: are thrifted via the German site "Kleiderkreisel", where you can buy and sell 2nd hand clothing
- socks: are from Sock Dreams and made my wanna do the whole costume
- skirt: is self-made with different fabrics without a real pattern
- corset: is also self-made, it was my first ever corset that I made and I used a pattern by McCalls Cosplay
- Bloomers (not visible) and shirt: are self-made with my own pattern, the shirt pattern is a raglan cut I tested especially for this outfit. Since I couldn't find a matching striped fabric I sewed the stripes togther
- jacket: was bought 2nd hand from my friend Nana
- goggles: are some cheap ones I modified to fit the outfit
- jewelry: is mostly hand-made by me, (the button and the smaller brooch is merch from Anja Bagus Aetherwelten), the necklace was made using the amazing artwork by redrevvy, which inspired the whole outfit becuase I liked the combination of dark and light green stripes
- wings: are made using absinth spoons and incooperate a little glas bottle of absinth, a bottle of water and some sugar cubes
